SMALL BALL UNITED
OPPORTUNITY: After 30+ years in operation, an international youth basketball non-profit was looking for a new brand identity and positioning, followed by a new brand rollout across all on & offline marketing materials. The new brand needed to resonate with a versatile audience including players & parents, coaches & volunteers, as well as donors, sponsors, and entrepreneurs interested in franchising their own team.
SOLUTION: We developed an inclusive brand strategy built upon three core values of the organization: Character, Culture & Competition. Honoring the racial, cultural, and geographical diversity of the league was key, balanced with a unified love for the game of basketball. We focused on impact and emotion both on & off the court, telling a compelling visual story with emotionally-driven messaging.
A style guide and turn-key asset catalog were created for corporate use [new donor and sponsor acquisition] as well as social media content creation by teams across the globe. The new brand ID was applied to a donor-centric, fully responsive e-commerce website experience, complete with a gear shop, donation platform, and a sponsorship & franchise application portal. A CRM and Email marketing system was integrated to maintain continuous contact with the growing community of SBU donors, players, and alumni. Print collateral, including promotional event materials, player certificates, business cards, and more were designed to amplify the new brand experience with both existing and prospective program participants.
